Acetyl-L-carnitine (ALC, acetyllevocarnitine) is the naturally occurring acetyl ester of L-carnitine and is the delivery form for both L-carnitine and acetyl groups.

Carnitine is an amino acid required for normal healthy lipid and carbohydrate metabolism.
